100年以上続く歴史ある温泉の建て替えの計画である。老朽化と水害により、やむなく建て替えの計画となり、既存の愛されて来た建物形状を踏襲しつつ設計した。アプローチである軒下空間にふんだんに熊本県産の杉材を使用した外壁の軒裏で構成し、耐久性に配慮しながら既存建物を踏襲した仕上げを積極的に採用した。

Through the use of materials and light, the space gains subtle layers of shadow and atmosphere, encouraging visitors to stay comfortably.While rooted in everyday life, the design offers a quiet and intimate setting where one can momentarily shift away from the ordinary.
