熊本県阿蘇市に位置する温泉宿「阿蘇ホテル」の浴場改修計画。
既存施設の老朽化に対し、空間の質を高めながら、温泉体験の再構築が求められた。

計画では、既存の構成を活かしつつ、光の取り込み方や視線の抜けを丁寧に整理し、閉じがちな浴場空間に広がりを与えている。過度な演出は避け、素材や陰影によって静けさをつくることで、入浴という行為に集中できる環境を整えた。

仕上げには左官や自然素材を用い、時間の蓄積と調和する質感を重視している。
阿蘇の自然に包まれながら、身体と感覚をゆるやかに解放する場となることを目指した。

This project is the renovation of the bathing area at Aso Hotel in Kumamoto.

While retaining the existing structure, the design reorganizes light and spatial openness to enhance the bathing experience.Natural materials and subtle contrasts create a calm atmosphere, allowing guests to focus on the act of bathing.

The project aims to provide a quiet environment where the body and senses can gently unwind within the nature of Aso.
