全体の計画としては、農村の田園風景の景色に溶け込むように大きな切妻のボリュームを田んぼに平行に配置し、切妻の下の空間は大きなワンルームとなるように小屋空間が視覚的にもつながる空間とした。
プライベート空間である寝室やお風呂に関しては切妻のボリュームから切り離し、田んぼに対して突き出した箱型の形状をしている。

この箱型のボリュームは西に開かれた庭に対する視線を防ぐ役目に加えて大開口を設けたリビングの夏の夕日の日除けの役割も果たしている。西に沈む冬の夕日は直接鑑賞して、夏の夕日は箱型ボリュームが遮り、夕日が反射した夕焼け空を楽しむような配置計画となっている。

切妻の小屋組みの構造は、金物を使用しない接合形式を構造設計者と考え、45×300の熊本県産の杉材を303ピッチで配置し、木の量感溢れる空間となっている。単調な切妻の空間がリズミカルな線材で構成される事で、シンプルな空間と木質感が融合するように考えた。

The overall composition places a large gabled volume parallel to the rice fields, allowing the building to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.
Beneath the gable, the space is organized as a single, continuous room, where the structure and interior are visually connected.

Private functions such as the bedroom and bathroom are separated from the main volume and formed as a projecting box toward the fields.
This volume not only screens views from the west-facing garden but also acts as a sunshade, blocking the strong western sun in summer while allowing the winter sunset to be experienced directly.

The roof structure was developed in collaboration with the structural engineer as a joint system without metal fittings.
Kumamoto cedar members (45×300) are arranged at 303 mm intervals, creating a space rich in the presence of wood.

By composing the simple gabled space with a rhythmic arrangement of linear members, the design integrates spatial clarity with a strong sense of materiality.
